Grow Nigeria’s economy with your expertise if you win—Group tells Obi

ABUJA- Chief Ugochukwu Nnam, National Coordinator of the Initiative for Leadership Development and Change (ILDC) on Wednesday urged Mr. Peter Obi to use his expertise to reset the national economy if he wins the 2023 presidential elections
Obi was recently elected as the flag bearer for the Labor Party in next year’s presidential elections.
While acknowledging Obi for winning the primary elections, Nnam told News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Wednesday that Obi has the credentials to make Nigeria a greater nation.
“It is no surprise that prominent figures such as Professor Pat Utomi, Olubusola Emmanuel-Tella and Faduri Joseph stepped down for Mr Peter Obi because he had a dynamic, inspiring and inclusive campaign.
The ILDC leader said his emergence as a consensus candidate is a testament to the positive impact he has had on leaders and the rest of the Nigerian community.
Nnam, who expressed his optimism that other presidential candidates would be men of integrity and ideology from whom Nigerians would choose their leader.
He described Obi as a beacon of hope for young people given his commitment to wealth creation and youth empowerment.
“He is committed to increasing productivity by revitalizing our export industries and making the economy less dependent on crude oil.
“Mr Peter Obi has a good track record as evidenced by his achievements as Governor of Anambra State.
“During his tenure and with his state Anambra became an oil producing state,” he said.
He said Obi has been recognized as the best governor by the Office of Millennium Development Goals (OSSAP-MDGs) and UNDP in implementing their programs in Nigeria.
“The Nigerian Debt Management Office (DMO) has rated Anambra as the least indebted state in Nigeria.
“Despite visible and measurable achievements recorded in various sectors, the state under his leadership has not borrowed or raised bonds for its various projects,” he said.
He expressed optimism that patriotic citizens like Obi had the skill that would make the country prosper. (NOPE)
